Carnelian: The Sille Dragon Odyssey is a webtoon written by Yunsu and Oriana and illustrated by Unseol, and based on the web novel of the same name written by Kim Choul-Gon.

As the title, the author chose the popular trope "Dragon Lady", which indicates the "dragon" behavior of the main female character.

Kim Cheolgon self-published this web novel in the late 1990s on the computer communication services Hitel (하이텔) and Nownuri (나우누리), and then it was published by the publishing company Jaeumgwamoeum (자음과모음) as a 9-volume print novel from October 21, 2000 to May 16, 2002. Later, the publishing company Deurimai Gupan (드림아이 구판) published it as a paid e-book on November 6, 2012, and the publishing company Next Level Studio (넥스트레벨스튜디오) published it as a paid web novel on the platforms KakaoPage, Naver Series, Ridi, Mr. Blue, Bookcube and Onestory in June and July 2023.

An unofficial webtoon called "Dragon Lady" started to be published on the Naver Challenge platform around July 18, 2017 (mentioned on Dcinside online portal), and then it started to be published on the Naver Best Challenge platform around November 20, 2017 (mentioned on a reader's blog), but it was removed from the Naver Best Challenge soon after, possibly because it was created without the permission of the author of the original web novel.

On June 28, 2023, Toyou's Dream webtoon studio started publishing another webtoon also called "Dragon Lady" as an official webtoon on KakaoPage and Kakao Webtoon platforms, and Kim Cheolgon liked it (mentioned on Kim Cheolgon's blog).

Summary

Julitan is a cook who's never left his tiny fishing village. That is until one day, when he slices open the belly of a giant fish and finds a mysterious lady sleeping inside, cradling a giant sword. Julitan bestows her with the name Carnelian, only to accidentally awaken a powerful "sille" being. But Carnelian the sille soon discovers her new tamer and master Sir Julitan is no match for her superior power. Now the two must embark on a long quest to find this fierce sille dragon's true knight!
