Characters[]

The Altelion family

  • Shine Altelion (샤인 알테리온) nicknamed Shan (샨) – the protagonist of the story, the fourth son of Reines, a dragon tamer, a swordsman and a healer who studies at the magical military academy "Dragon School" in the land of Jeguk (제국, lit.: "Empire"). He looks like a beautiful girl, but he is an asexual person who will never fall in love with anyone, which is why his friends call him a "mental eunuch" (정신적 고자, jeongshinjeok goja). His mother gave birth to three sons and wanted the fourth child to be a daughter, so she gave him the female name Shine (샤인, Shyain), but his father, brothers and friends call him the male name Shan (샨, Shyan).
  • Reines Altelion (라이너스 알테리온) – Shan's father, a widower, a baron and a legendary swordsman. He despises money and luxury and prefers to live in poverty and modesty, but he is the head of the ancient and respected Altelion family, a clan of monster hunters and dragon tamers, so when his son Shan became the owner of the dragon Kai, Emperor of Jeguk personally issued a decree enrolling Shan in the elite academy "Dragon School", where children from the richest aristocratic families study. His sons Shan and Lio are indifferent to money and think only about military glory and family love, but the other two sons, Erron and Argo, are obsessed with money and work diligently to become as rich as possible.
  • Reiner Altelion (라이네르 알테리온) – Shan's mother, a princess from the northern kingdom of Aslenta (아스렌타) and a talented swordswoman. She died shortly after Shan's birth. She was the most beautiful woman on the continent, and Emperor of Jeguk wanted to make her one of his concubines, but she rejected him and married Reines.
  • Lio Altelion (리오 알테리온) – the first son of Reines, a future baron and a universal warrior who prefers to fight with his fists.
  • Erron Altelion (에론 알테리온) – the second son of Reines, an imperial military advisor and a legendary swordsman.
  • Argo Altelion (아르고 알테리온) – the third son of Reines, a wealthy merchant, a swordsman and a spearman.

Shan's classmates

  • Tiss Etakar (티스 이타카르) – a boy, one of Shan's two best friends, a womanizer and a universal warrior who prefers to fight with a whip and can predict the future with divination. In fact, his real name is Tymeris Etakar Di Wachyeo Hastings (티메리스 이타카르 디 와처 헤이스팅스), and he is a member of family of Emperor of Jeguk, but he studies at the academy under a fake name and pretends to be a foreign student.
  • Yulkess Landskne (율케스 란츠크네) – a boy, the second of Shan's two best friends, a tough child from a warlock family, a vampire and a genius swordsman. He died as a child, but his relatives resurrected him, and as a result, he became a vampire and began wearing magical earrings that protect him from sunlight and help him pretend to be human.
  • Chrom Meyerheart (크롬 마이어하트) – a boy, a proud child from the richest family in Jeguk, a dragon tamer and a magician who owns telekinesis. In the novel, the main love storyline revolves around Chrom's unrequited love for Shan, but in the webtoon, they are just friends.
  • Giselle Baskerville (지젤 바스커빌) – a girl, a halberdier and a magician who creates protective barriers.
  • Dantes Alfado (단테스 알파도) – a boy, a mafia boss relative, a financial genius and a spirit tamer.
  • Nell (넬) – a boy who has a perfect memory and can always remember and repeat any movement (gesture or punch) he has ever seen. He is the only commoner among the students of the "Dragon School", which is why some of the students bully him.

Pets

  • Kai (카이) – the deuteragonist, a little white dragon of Shan. He stays next to Shan and shares his dragon energy (health and magic power) with him almost all the time because Shan's body has poor health and little magic power.
  • Flamel (플라멜) – a little red dragon of Chrom. He goes everywhere with Chrom.
